The mission for the Macedonia Light house is to provide temporary emergency housing and support services for homeless men ages eighteen (18) to Fifty five (55) in a setting that encourages personal responsibility and offers the opportunity for independence in self sufficiency
Our home has a case manager and a live in house manager who communicates and work together to assist and strive to meet the needs of each of its residents.
Based on these needs, an advisory board has been appointed by Macedonia Human Services Cultural Training Center, Inc. who works together with these individual, to ensure that things operate smoothly within the house.
Our hope is to be able to offer a safe supportive environment where the residents will begin to work on goals and objectives for a well balanced life.
Our mission is to enable them to become stable in their financial, emotional, spiritual and physical being.
The Macedonia Lighthouse
was founded on January 2, 2011 as A Transitional Living Facility for homeless men between the ages of 18 and 55 with a maximum of 4 program participants at the present time.
As long as the residents abide by all the rules and policies set forth for the home and participate in the program requirements for this home, they may remain in the program for up to a maximum of one year period from admission date.
There are in place a multitude of services available to residents, either on-site or through local provider within the community. Some of these are:

2. Parenting classes
3. Job and Career counseling
4. Anger management/support services
5. Communication skills groups
6. Charlotte County Health Deportment
7. Workforce Council
8. Vocational Rehabilitation
9. Support counseling

Definition of Homeless
In Title 42, Chapter 119, Subchapter 1, a homeless individual is an individual that lacks a fixed, regular and adequate night time residence.

The Macedonia Lighthouse home will protect the fundamental, civil, constitutional, and statutory rights of residents and will provide considerate and respectful care.
Every resident shall participate in the development of an individualized service plan and wherever helpful the participation of family shall be encouraged.
The resident has a right to every consideration of his privacy concerning his stay. Case discussion, consultation, examination and treatment are confidential and will be conducted discreetly.
All communication and records shall be treated as confidential.
The resident has a right to receive an explanation of any limitation placed on the duration of services while residing in the home.
Alcohol & Drug Tolerance
The house has a zero (-0-) tolerance for alcohol, illegal prescription medications and/or illegal street drugs. All residents of our program are subject to random room search and drug testing if deemed necessary (suspicious behavior) by the House Manager.
